Programme Overview

Launched in 2015 under the statutory authority of the Citizenship by Investment Act, St. Lucia's CIP is highly regarded as one of the most innovative and forward-thinking corporate-structured programmes in the global mobility landscape. It combines modern, multi-tiered compliance with flexible asset allocation, offering discerning investors an elite framework for international risk management. Often praised for its striking natural geography and robust legal institutions based on English Common Law, St. Lucia manages its programme under the strict oversight of the St. Lucia Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU). For clients of Burbridge Capital, St. Lucia delivers an unparalleled operational asset — providing rapid global access, sophisticated corporate flexibility, and permanent security for your family without requiring a change to your primary residency.

The Process

How Burbridge Capital
manages your application

1
Compliance & Onboarding
Our in-house compliance team conducts a preliminary review of your background and source of funds to eliminate regulatory risks. Upon clearance, we formalise our engagement and issue your bespoke document checklist.
2
Dossier Preparation & Legalisation
Our specialised legal team orchestrates the collection, translation, notarisation, and apostille of all required civil certificates, police records, bank references, and source-of-wealth dossiers.
3
Submission & Multi-Tier Vetting
The complete dossier is formally filed with the St. Lucia CIU. Statutory processing fees, international due diligence fees, and bank screening fees are settled. Independent international intelligence agencies commence rigorous vetting.
4
Mandatory Virtual Interview
In compliance with harmonised regional standards, the main applicant and all qualifying dependants aged 16 and over must participate in a secure virtual interview with government-appointed compliance officers.
5
Approval-in-Principle & Capital Deployment
Upon successful vetting clearance, the CIU issues an official Approval-in-Principle. The applicant fulfils their chosen pathway — executing the NEF donation, purchasing government bonds, or completing the real estate escrow settlement.

Citizenship Registration & Passport Delivery
Your Certificate of Naturalisation is officially registered. St. Lucia biometric passports are printed and securely dispatched to Burbridge Capital for confidential, private hand-delivery to your preferred location.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the secondary government fees required if I choose the USD 300,000 Government Bond option?+
While the bond principal remains flat at USD 300,000 regardless of your family size, the government applies a non-refundable administrative fee of USD 50,000 per application. Standard due diligence fees (USD 7,500 for the main applicant, USD 5,000 per dependent over 16) and processing fees also apply.
Are the Government Bonds safe, and how do I get my money back after 5 years?+
Yes, the National Action Bonds (NAB) are sovereign debt instruments backed directly by the Government of St. Lucia. Upon reaching the mandatory 5-year maturity date, the treasury automatically redeems the bonds at par value. The full USD 300,000 principal is wired back to your designated international bank account, while you and your family retain citizenship for life.
What are the additional administrative fees if I opt for the Real Estate route?+
If you choose the approved real estate pathway, the government applies separate post-approval administrative fees. For a single applicant, the fee is USD 30,000. For a married couple applying together, the fee is USD 45,000. For dependent children under 18, the fee is USD 5,000 each, and for dependants over 18, it is USD 10,000 each.
Can I include a sibling in my application, and what are the specific rules?+
Yes, St. Lucia allows you to include siblings of the principal applicant. To qualify, the sibling must be unmarried, have no children, be under the age of 18, and have the formal consent of their parent or legal guardian to join the application.
How long is the St. Lucia passport valid for, and how do I handle renewals?+
The Certificate of Naturalization is permanent and ensures your citizenship for life. The actual passport travel document is valid for 5 years for all applicants.Passports can be renewed completely remotely through the global consulate network or directly via Burbridge Capital's ongoing corporate client desk.
Is there a physical residency requirement or a language test to pass?+
No, there are absolutely no physical presence, residency, history, or language proficiency mandates. The entire onboarding, document collection, and mandatory compliance interview are conducted fully remotely. You are never required to travel to St. Lucia to secure or maintain your citizenship.
